1. NORTH EAST MEGA FOOD PARK, TIHU, NALBARI
Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Govt. of India, has announced to set up Mega Food Parks at various locations in India. To implement the Mega Food Park project in Assam, North East Mega Food Park Limited (NEMFPL), a company has been incorporated on February 25, 2009 under the Companies Act 1956, with its registered office at Guwahati and identified a plot of land measuring 50 acres at Tihu in Nalbari district. The project is located 80 KM from Guwahati towards Barpeta, along the East-West Corridor- NH 37.
The Promoters of the Company are as follows:
Assam Industrial Development Corporation (24%)
Ozone Ayurvedics (48%)
LMJ International Ltd.(22%)
Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (1%)
Rajsekhar Constructions Pvt Ltd. (5%)
Project :
The Mega Food Park is envisaged to help in creation of enabling infrastructure for food processing industries. The park would provide state –of-the –art infrastructure for food processing on a pre identified cluster basis. Mega Food Park would specially includes developing infrastructure to facilitate establishments of strong food processing industries backed by an efficient supply chain including collection centers, primary processing centers and cold chain infrastructure.

Project Management Consultants:
As per guidelines of MoFPI, M/S Technopak Advisors (P) Ltd , Gurgaon has been appointed as Project Management Consultants (PMC) . The North East Mega Food Park , was inaugurated on 28th May, 2015.

2. BAMBOO TECHNOLOGY PARK
‘Bamboo Technology Park’ was incorporated as a section 25 Company (now a section 8 Company under Companies Act’2013) to set up a Bamboo based Technology Park so as to provide specialized physical and intellectual facilities to industrial firms and to encourage them in setting up Bamboo processing units and to introduce appropriate technologies and complementary skill building in rural areas, creating the possibility for producers and artisans to improve their skills and become more specialized in their fields. Accordingly, the Company is implementing a project to set up a state of the art Common Facility Centre (C.F.C) to provide pre and post production facility at Chaygaon in Kamrup (Rural) District of Assam. The mission is to make the common facility centre a hub for sourcing and marketing of Bamboo Products.
SALIENT FEATURE OF THE PROJECT:
The project will be utilizing natural resources like bamboo and there will be no wastage, as the bamboo waste will be converted into wealth. The processing of the bamboo is not at all hazardous to us and thus there will not be any negative impact to the surroundings. Rather the project will be converting bamboo, called the “Poor Men’s Timber” into “Rich Men’s Timber”.

STATUS OF THE PROJECT (as on 01.04.2016):
The activities at the project site are at an advance stage of completion. Most of the indigenous and imported Plant and Machineries have already arrived at the project site and their installations are underway. The Marketing Centre is complete and the Common Facility Centre (CFC) is near completion. The project is expected to commission within 3 (three) months. The total Park area is about 20 acre (60bigha) and out of this about 6 acre of land will be available to the prospective entrepreneurs for setting up Bamboo based units.
